After downloading a ring tone file (.m4a or .m4r works best), open the Files app on your iPhone, find the file, and long-press it. If it's under 30 seconds, choose Share, then "Use as Ringtone" -- it's added directly to your ringtone list right away.

Some older devices, or files longer than 30 seconds, may need trimming first in GarageBand instead. Apple's official guide covers both paths in detail: support.apple.com (opens in a new window).

Once it's added, go to Settings > Sound & Haptics > Ringtone to select it as your default, or assign it to a specific contact from their contact card.

After downloading the file, the simplest route on most phones is the Files by Google app -- open it, find and play the audio file, tap More, then "Set as ringtone." Google's official instructions are at support.google.com (opens in a new window).

If your phone does not have that app, you can also go to Settings > Sound & Vibration > Phone Ringtone and choose the downloaded file directly from there -- the exact wording varies a bit by manufacturer (Samsung, Pixel, and so on).

Accessibility is not an afterthought for any of this -- it is the whole point, built in from the ground up rather than bolted on later.

Some of my content is behind a pay wall now, Because the donatoin model just doesn't work (in my experience). To make matters worse, I work hard to build ,things and all I've gotten were entitled comments for more. It's thankless, and was sucking the fun out of my coding work. While some content will be free to read, other stuff will only be accessible to members.

I've dreamed of owning my own 24-hour cyber lounge and coffee house. A place where customers can use iMacs and PCs, print documents, relax in bean bag chairs, and hang out with friendly dogs. Basically, a place where anyone can come to chill.
I'd have gaming nights, and even a weekly night specifically for introverts (like me). And, of course, the best Wi-Fi! I'd sell a limited selection of accessories, like USB-C cables, chargers, and other little things people might need. We'd also offer coffee/tea drinks from various local roasters, so everyone in the local industry wins.
